OTTAWA – Marguerite Pigott is joining the Canadian Media Production Association (CMPA) as vice-president, outreach and strategic initiatives.
A familiar name in the Canadian production industry, Pigott (pictured) is currently head of creative development with Allarco Entertainment's Super Channel. Her career has spanned broadcast, distribution, production, and programming positions, and she also sits on the board of directors of the Ontario Media Development Corporation.
Pigott will assume the position in early May, and be based in the CMPA’s Toronto offices. Reporting directly to CMPA president and CEO Michael Hennessy, she will responsible for the development and support of a national 360 digital strategy supporting both traditional member activities and increasing opportunities for emerging screen based entrepreneurs in general (identifying new digital revenue streams, new member strategies, events and professional development); leadership of CMPA's Prime Time in Ottawa conference and other events; and contributing to a sponsorship strategy that supports the organization’s objectives and enhances the profile of the CMPA and its members.
“Her experience and enthusiasm make her the ideal candidate for this position in a time when the industry faces unprecedented and accelerated change,” said Hennessy, in the announcement. "We believe, under her leadership, our membership will be even better served as it positions itself to address the challenges presented by an increasingly global, competitive and increasingly digital marketplace."
