Phone service resumes after northern Manitoba fire

WINNIPEG - MTS Allstream has restored service to its telecommunications site at Notigi Lake in northern Manitoba, which was damaged by fire early last week. Normal telecommunications services have returned to Lynn Lake, Leaf Rapids and South Indian Lake, the company announced. Communications to the three communities were disrupted when fire destroyed the buildings, diesel generators and microwave equipment on June 28. MTS Allstream said that it is cooperating with the Office of the Fire Commissioner and the RCMP in an on-going investigation into the cause of the fire. www.mtsallstream.com
