Persona’s Atlantic division gets rebranded under EastLink name

ST. JOHN’S, NF – Bragg Communications is changing the name of the Atlantic division of Persona, which the Halifax-based communications company acquired in September 2007, to EastLink. The other divisions of Persona, which has almost 500,000 subscribers across Canada, will continue to operate under the Persona Communications brand.

With the inclusion of Persona’s Atlantic customers under the EastLink brand, EastLink will now serve more than 295,000 subscribers in Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick.

Persona’s customers in Newfoundland and Labrador will start to receive communication introducing the new name and new brand identity, beginning in April. Its first step to expanded service in that area will be a new billing system.

“We are excited about the transition to the EastLink brand,” said Arthur Taylor, general manager of Persona Atlantic. “EastLink has built a strong reputation in Atlantic Canada, providing a broad range of entertainment and communications services to business and residential customers. We are pleased to become a part of EastLink and we know our customers will be pleased with the expanded choices that will be available to them.”

EastLink is currently upgrading to offer products such as HD programming, video-on-demand, high-speed Internet and local telephone services.

“EastLink is committed to expanding our product offering in Newfoundland and Labrador,” said co-CEO Dan McKeen. “We have immediate plans to commence network upgrades to launch EastLink Telephone service in a number of our Newfoundland systems.”

The company is also working to improve the speed and the quality of Internet service throughout Newfoundland.
