OAKVILLE – Météomédia/Weather Network owner Pelmorex Media has agreed to buy World Weatherwatch of Markham, Ontario.
Established in 1976, World Weatherwatch provides a wide variety of meteorological services to a broad client base including Ministry Transportation of Ontario (MTO), Hydro One, Bruce Nuclear Power, as well as numerous cities and municipalities. The firm has been providing weather services to the transportation, rail, aviation and municipal sectors for many years and has built an excellent reputation as a well-established Canadian weather services provider.
As both are private companies, terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The transaction closed on January 31, 2006.
