TORONTO – Tracey Pearce has been promoted senior vice-president, specialty and pay at Bell Media, effective immediately.
Pearce (pictured), who has been with the company since 2001, will report directly to King while overseeing Bell Media's English-language, entertainment and factual specialty channels and digital platforms, including Discovery, Bravo, Space, The Comedy Network, Much, MTV, E!, among others, as well as pay services The Movie Network and HBO Canada. She will also serve on Bell Media's Programming Council, where she will consult on the overall acquisition and development strategies for all Bell Media channels.
Former SVP Catherine MacLeod stepped down from the role last week for family reasons.
"Tracey is a well-respected broadcast veteran with extensive cross-sector experience in all aspects of the business," said King in a press release. "She has been intricately involved with the company's major strategic decisions and executions for more than a decade, and brings deep-rooted relationships with both content providers and the independent production community. We're very happy to have secured Tracey to lead this increasingly important portfolio."
Pearce joined the company in 2001, and most recently was senior vice-president, business and legal affairs for Bell Media, where she oversaw all business and legal affairs for programming creation and acquisitions, as well as acted as lead counsel for Canada's Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium. For the past several years, Pearce has resided in the United Kingdom with her family, where she continued to support Bell Media in an advisory role, particularly with the Consortium's broadcast of London 2012.
Prior to her role at Bell Media, Pearce was a partner at Goodmans LLP focusing on communications law including broadcasting, telecommunications, new media, and cultural policy.
