KAMLOOPS – The Jim Pattison Broadcast Group has announced a corporate shuffle and radio station reorganization in western Canada.
The Group has created a new radio cluster for Southwestern Alberta/Southeastern B.C. and given Rob Bye and Rod Schween new responsibilities.
Bye, who has been GM and general sales manager in Lethbridge, becomes GM:/GSM for Island Radio, comprising CKWV FM/CHWF FM, CKLR FM, CJAV FM, CIBH FM/CHPQ FM, effective Feb. 19th. “I wish to thank the Lethbridge team for the tremendously fulfilling experience of working with them over the past four-and-a-half years. Now, I’m truly looking forward to working with our team on central Vancouver Island," said Bye in a press release.
Schween moves from his post as GM in Cranbrook/Fernie to take on the responsibility as GM:/GSM of the new SW Alberta/SE B.C. radio cluster, comprising CHLB FM/CJBZ FM Lethbridge, CHBZ FM/CHDR FM, CJDR FM Cranbrook/Fernie, effective Feb. 19th.
Rod has been in the broadcasting industry for 21 years in senior management roles and has led our team in the Kootenays over the past eight years to new heights in programming, sales, community involvement and achievement, said the release from Rick Arnish, president of JPBG.
“I will always cherish the years I spent in Cranbrook. I’ve had the privilege to work with many wonderful people at the station and in the community, and I’m very pleased that I will be able to remain involved in the operation there. At the same time, I am very excited with this new opportunity in Southwestern Alberta," said Schween in the release. "Rob Bye has gathered an outstanding team around him in Lethbridge, and I am extremely honoured to be named as his replacement.”
