Part II fee hearing set with $700 million at stake

OTTAWA - The Federal Court of Appeal has scheduled a hearing date for the appeal and cross-appeal in the Part II license fee case, says the Canadian Association of Broadcasters. The Crown is appealing the December 14, 2006 decision, in which Judge Michel Shore found the Part II fees to be an illegal tax, but he stopped short of saying the money should be refunded.
