OTTAWA – Despite an increasingly competitive TV market with online streaming and OTT services, over-the-air TV viewing has seen slight growth in recent years, according to research from the Media Technology Monitor (MTM).
In a brief report entitled A Look at Off-Air TV Service Spring 2016: Analysis of the Canadian Market, MTM examines data from the latest Media Technology Monitor that found an uptick in the number of Canadians who receive live TV signals at home via an antenna or “rabbit ears”. Specifically, the report seeks to answer questions such as: who is driving this growth? Where is it occurring? And is off-air viewing truly making a comeback?
