VANCOUVER – Newspaper and magazine subscription aggregator PressReader announced Wednesday it is partnering with Bell Mobility to bring newspapers and magazines to wireless customers across Canada.

Bell is the first Canadian provider to offer mobile access to PressReader’s thousands of local, national and international publications in an all-you-can-read package. With a $10 PressReader subscription, Bell Mobility customers can stay connected to news from home and abroad, browse familiar publications or discover new ones, simply by adding $10 PressReader access to their monthly Mobility account.

“Canadians are using their smartphones and tablets to catch up on the news, conduct research or indulge in a great magazine feature, whether at home, at work or when they’re travelling,” said Nauby Jacob, vice-president, products and services for Bell Mobility, in a press release.

PressReader has built strong partnerships with the world’s best publishers, including the National Post, Vancouver Sun, Toronto Star, Le Devoir, The Guardian, The Washington Post, Forbes, Hockey News, and Elle, helping them connect to new audiences. Vancouver-based PressReader has more stories than any other platform and is the only one with rights to distribute news content from mainland China, it says.

“Our innovative business models have already brought high-quality journalism to readers across the world. Bell is yet another industry leader that’s joining us in delivering trusted content in a way that makes sense to consumers,” said Igor Smirnoff, chief commercial officer at PressReader, in the release. “Canadians want a mobile reading experience that’s highly personalized. We’re giving them the options they want.”
