VANCOUVER – OUTtv has launched an over-the-top video subscription service known as OUTtvGo as part of strategic efforts to expand its offerings beyond its linear channel.
The national LGBTQ television network said Wednesday that the online video streaming service is available in Canada for $4 per month, and offers much of the same programming as OUTtv, including every available season of popular TV series RuPaul's Drag Race.
The company added that it has tapped San Francisco-based Frankly Inc. to accelerate the development, launch, and now management of OUTtvGo.
"We could not be happier about working with such a respected partner like Frankly as we move into multiscreen platforms”, said OUTtv CEO Brad Danks, in the news release. “Frankly provides a comprehensive media platform for us to build OUTtvGo and make it a premier video streaming service for our audience. With Frankly's superior service and support, we have the opportunity to reach new customers across multiple platforms and in new territories around the world."
