VANCOUVER — OUTtv, the world’s first and Canada’s only LGBTQ+ television network and streaming service, today announced distribution partnerships with three entertainment platforms as part of its ongoing global expansion strategy.
OUTtv’s new distribution deals are with SVOD platform Showmax (South Africa), Fox’s AVOD platform Tubi (U.S.) and cross-platform media company Fuse Media (U.S.).
“This year our efforts are concentrated on growing the accessibility of OUTtv’s expansive catalogue of LGBTQ+ content to global audiences,” said Brad Danks, CEO of OUTtv, in the news release. “We’re seeing an increasing demand for LGBTQ+ programming and by partnering with premium entertainment platforms such as Showmax, Tubi and Fuse Media we are able to make our content more accessible to international audiences.”
Showmax has acquired a catalogue of OUTtv content including The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula, Trixie Mattel: Skinny Legend and Drag SOS, with plans to add new content monthly, says the release. Fuse Media and Tubi, an AVOD service with more than 20,000 movies and TV shows, have acquired OUTtv’s OUTspoken documentary series and a number of lifestyle series.
“OUTtv’s programming fits nicely within our mission of serving a young, multicultural and inclusive audience with content from a diverse array of voices and points of view, and we are excited to share these stories,” said Marc Leonard, senior vice-president of content strategy for Fuse Media.
