Ottawa’s You.i TV hires first COO

OTTAWA – Canadian video app platform company You.i TV has named Dan Beer as its first chief operating officer.

Beer (pictured) brings a long and tenured career leading, implementing and improving operations across a wide variety of software businesses, including IBM, Cognos and Oracle.  At You.i TV, he will be responsible for aligning the company’s management processes with its expanding partner network.

“Dan’s skills are uniquely suited to accelerate the next phase of You.i TV’s growth,” said CEO and co-founder Jason Flick, in the news release.  “He has a keen understanding of software products, a history of building partner relationships that deliver on customer expectations, and the ability to sustain the startup flexibility that has contributed to You.i TV’s success. His expertise spans all fundamental areas – including forecasting, channels, operations and performance analytics – that are relevant to the company’s expansion on a global scale.”

You.i TV’s technology You.i Engine currently powers popular TV apps for customers such as shomi, Corus Entertainment , Sony Crackle and Turner Broadcasting.
