NEW YORK – An Ottawa radio host will appear on the popular ABC-TV morning show LIVE! with Regis and Kelly after being named as one of the five winners of a North America-wide contest called “Men of Radio Co-Host for a Day Search”.
Jeff Mauler from Ottawa’s Hot 89.9 was the only Canadian to win one of the invitations. He will join Ripa as a guest co-hosts for one day between January 24 – 28, 2011.
The search was open to male radio broadcasters with regularly scheduled shows of any kind. After receiving tens of thousands of nominations, the show’s producers narrowed the field to 100 and then to ten finalists, whose names were announced live on the air last week. The winners were named Monday after a week of on-line voting in which nearly 900,000 votes were cast.
