TORONTO – Orbyt Media, a Canadian content syndication group and a subsidiary of Bell Media, announced today it is launching an all-new country music program New & Now with Shannon Ella, which will air on Sundays at 4 p.m. starting June 5 on iHeartRadio Canada’s Pure Country stations and via live stream on iHeartRadio.ca and the iHeartRadio app.
“New & Now with Shannon Ella is also available to all radio broadcasters through Orbyt Media,” a press release says.
“Led by fan-favourite Pure Country host Shannon Ella, the show highlights the newest and hottest artists in country music, and delivers exclusive interviews with musicians on the rise, stories behind chart-topping songs, and new music recommendations from the genre’s biggest stars,” says the release.
Ella studied Communications at the University of Louisville and in 2019 became the host of Pure Country’s midday show. “In 2020, Ella was recognized as the CCMA’s Country Personality of the Year, and as CMAOntario’s Industry Person of the Year for her exceptional contributions to the country radio scene,” the press release says.
“This show will be a regular destination for country music fans to be introduced to amazing new artists,” said Ella, in the release. “Each week, we will feature artists making an impact on the country music landscape, and a number of under-the-radar gems too. This show is designed to give their songs a chance to be heard, and I can’t wait to share them with listeners.”
