Openface helps power Montreal Wi-Fi project

MONTREAL – Openface Internet has been tapped as the main bandwidth provider for the MTLWiFi project, an initiative to provides free public wireless Internet access in downtown Montreal and the Old Port area.

Thanks to an agreement with the city's Palais des congrès, Openface is providing the main connection that will be used as the 20 Gbps Internet “backbone" for the MTLWiFi project.

"It is an honor and privilege for Openface to be able to play a role in the deployment of a project like MTLWiFi", said Openface VP Nicolas Philiptchenko, in Thursday’s news release.  "This project will enhance the digital experience for visitors and citizens alike and we are more than happy in knowing that everyone will benefit from the performance and reliability of the Openface network."

Founded in 1996 in Montreal, Openface provides Internet connectivity and related IP services to more than 900 large companies.
