BRAMPTON, Ont. — The Ontario chapter of the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) is offering a free webinar on the topic of “DOCSIS 4.0 – What Does it Mean to You?” on June 23.
The initial draft of the DOCSIS 4.0 specification has been released recently and will be another technology in the toolbox that is aligned with CableLabs’ 10G initiative. The Extended Spectrum DOCSIS (ESD) branch of the DOCSIS 4.0 technology specifies an upper frequency of 1.8 GHz, and as such will require multiple-system operators (MSOs) to upgrade the bandwidth that their outside plant (OSP) networks can support.
This webinar provides an overview of the DOCSIS 4.0 specification as well as changes that will be necessary in the OSP from an architectural, equipment and craft perspective in order to deliver this technology.
The “DOCSIS 4.0 – What Does it Mean to You?” webinar takes place June 23 at 1 p.m. ET. To register for free, please click here.
