OneSoccer will air CPL final Dec. 5


TORONTO – OneSoccer, Mediapro’s dedicated soccer channel in Canada, announced today it will cap off the 2021 season with live coverage of the Canadian Premier League (CPL) final on Sunday, Dec. 5 at 4:30 p.m. ET/1:30 p.m. PT.

The game “pits two-time defending champion Forge FC of Hamilton, ON against Pacific FC of Langford, BC,” a press release says.

Mediapro Canada will produce the match, which is taking place at Hamilton’s Tim Hortons Field.

“In Canada, the match will be aired live on OneSoccer, which is available as a linear channel on Telus Optik TV (Ch. 980) … as well as through the fuboTV Canada streaming platform and the OneSoccer app, while fans in the US and the Caribbean will be able to watch the match live on Fox Sports 2,” the release says.

Coverage of the match will include the studio panel, which will appear pitchside. The panel is hosted by Gareth Wheeler and features analysts Oliver Platt and Jordan Wilson. Kristian Jack will be a sideline reporter.

Adam Jenkins and Terry Dunfield will provide play-by-play commentary in English while Matt Cullen will provide it in French. Kaylyn Kyle, a former Canada Soccer’s Women’s national team star will appear as a special guest analyst along with other Canadian soccer personalities.

OneSoccer is “the Canadian sports channel with the highest percentage of Canadian content at over 80% of all programming,” says the press release.

“Live match coverage of Canadian soccer will increase from 2022 with coverage of semi-pro leagues in BC, Ontario and Quebec, and in 2023, when the CPL will add a ninth team, from the Vancouver area, with more teams set to join the league in the near future.”
