OneSoccer gears up for Canada’s next FIFA World Cup qualifiers

TORONTO — Mediapro Canada announced today its dedicated soccer channel OneSoccer is gearing up to cover the Canadian men’s national team’s upcoming matches in the Concacaf Final Round of FIFA World Cup 2022 Qualifiers.

OneSoccer will air live coverage of the Canadian men’s away qualifier in Honduras on Jan. 27 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. This will be followed by a critical home qualifier against the USA team at Hamilton’s Tim Hortons Field on Jan. 30 at 3 p.m. ET/12 p.m. PT.

The final match in this fourth FIFA World Cup qualifying window will see the Canadian team travel back to Central America to take on El Salvador on Feb. 2 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.

OneSoccer will air all three Canada games as well as the other nine qualifiers in this round. OneSoccer is available as a linear channel on Telus Optik TV (channel 980), and via the fuboTV Canada streaming platform and the OneSoccer app.

Live coverage of the Canada vs. USA qualifier in Hamilton will be produced for global distribution by Mediapro Broadcast Services Canada using 16 cameras, the company’s 4K/HD mobile unit Odyssey, and a crew of nearly 50 technical and production staff, says a Mediapro Canada press release.

Later this year, OneSoccer will air live coverage of all 116 games in the Canadian Premier League, which begins its fourth season in April, as well as 12 Canadian Championship matches, both complemented by a range of studio and panel shows, the release says.

Other premium OneSoccer content this year will include coverage of the home friendlies of Canada Soccer’s women’s national team as well as July’s Concacaf W Championship, which serves as the qualifying route to the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
