TORONTO – OMNI Television is donating two hours of commercial-free, prime time coverage for the broadcast special Canada for Pakistan: Flood Relief Appeal this Sunday.
The broadcast will air October 3 on OMNI 2 in Ontario at 8pm ET, on OMNI Alberta at 9pm MT, and on OMNI B.C. at 5pm PT. All funds raised will support the efforts of the International Development & Relief Foundation to aid the over 20 million people who have been affected by the flooding in Pakistan that began in July.
In partnership with the IDFR, RBC and Multicultural Society of Pakistani Canadians, the appeal produced by OMNI Television will feature personal and touching stories from people affected by the flood in different ways, as well as inspirational accounts of relief efforts from a variety of experts, physicians and organizations.
Canadians are encouraged to donate during the broadcast over the phone by dialing 1-888-769-2501 or on-line at www.omnitv.ca. The Canadian Government has agreed to match all funds raised until and including the broadcast.
