OMNI BC promotes Terry Mahoney to g.m.

TORONTO – Rogers Media announced today the promotion of Terry Mahoney to general manager of OMNI TV, British Columbia effective July 1st, 2005.

"We are pleased to add Terry Mahoney (right) to the OMNI team. He will be a great asset in the leadership of the station and will play a key role in the revitalization of spiritual television," said Rogers Media Television CEO Leslie Sole. "Terry has extensive experience and skill not only in television but more specifically in religious broadcasting. This, along with Terry’s long history in B.C. and his knowledge and respect for diverse faiths make him a perfect fit for this position."

"The entire Vancouver staff is proud and excited to be an integral part of the development of OMNI TV, British Columbia," said Mahoney. "We are looking forward, with renewed enthusiasm, to building meaningful relationships with people of all faiths, and all cultures, to better serve the diverse social make up of British Columbia with intelligent, relevant and positive television."

Along with over three decades of television experience, Mahoney is a published author of numerous personality profile, outdoor activity, sport and lifestyle articles in a variety of magazines. For several years, he was a regular columnist on matters relating to inspirational and spiritual themes and has been a featured speaker on similar themes to many business and community groups.

OMNI TV BC is the newly-branded, newly-renovated licence resulting from Rogers’ $13-million purchase of NOW TV. Rogers will also assume ownership of a yet to be launched OMNI Winnipeg station.

Mahoney was manager of NOW TV prior to the Rogers purchase.
