Olympic broadcast consortium signs Coke as first media sponsor for London 2012

TORONTO – With the London 2012 Olympic Games still more than 15 months away, Canada’s Olympic broadcast media consortium has signed its first multiplatform sponsorship agreement for the Summer Games with Coca-Cola Canada.

The integrated media activation program provides the beverage maker with exclusivity in the categories of sparkling (non-alcoholic carbonated beverages), water and enhanced water, sports drinks, juice and juice drinks, and hot and cold ready-to-drink tea.

“The breadth and depth of the Consortium’s assets and cross-platform approach provides an unparalleled integrated business solution, which we have customized to meet Coca-Cola’s core objectives for London 2012,” said Nathalie Cook, the consortium’s VP of marketing and partnerships, in Thursday’s announcement. “Coca-Cola’s commitment to the Olympic Movement is to be admired, and we are excited to work with them once again following our great partnership at Vancouver.”

The deal marks the largest Canadian media sponsorship for Coca-Cola in a non-domestic Summer Games. Coca-Cola has been an Olympic partner since 1928.
