OLN to stream western programming into U.S.

DALLAS – Gold Buckle Network today announced a partnership with Canada’s Outdoor Life Network (OLN).

Through the partnership, OLN Canada and GBN will co-market selected content through various cross-promotional activities on television and the Internet, says today’s press release.

OLN Canada offers all sorts of outdoor programming, including coverage of The Tour De France and adventure shows, but GBN is primarily interested in OLN’s rodeo shows (including the Calgary Stampede coverage) and its hunting and fishing programming.

The partnership will see GBN stream selected OLN Canada programming to its subscribers via the Internet. In turn, OLN Canada is running 30- and 60-second GBN advertising spots on its television network and running a GBN promotion on its web site (www.tsn.ca/oln).

The partnership represents one of the ways GBN has become the leading online Western entertainment network. GBN streaming technology, content relationships, promotional partnerships, and growing subscriber base is an ideal fit for OLN Canada, says the press release.

Both networks focus on Western lifestyle and outdoor programming, which appeals to a broad range of individuals across the globe. The partnership enables GBN and OLN Canada to share content and more effectively cross-promote to a wider audience in Canada, the United States, and beyond.

"Through this partnership, GBN and OLN Canada will give viewers the opportunity to watch Western sports and other programming online that was previously only available on OLN Canada television,” said Christopher F. Hill, GBN president, in the release.

"OLN Canada is pleased to have GBN as our broadband partner,” added OLN Canada Director Anna Stambolic. “The opportunity to test programming, broaden availability to a new online audience, and raise awareness of diverse western lifestyles on GBN support our corporate mission. We have enjoyed a positive working relationship with GBN for over a year, and we look forward to working together into the future."
