O’Farrell resigns as TFO chief

TORONTO – Glenn O’Farrell, President and CEO of Ontario provincial public broadcaster Groupe Média TFO announced today he has submitted his resignation and will be leaving August 16th.

“These almost nine years at Groupe Média TFO have been wonderful,” O’Farrell said in the announcement. “I had the privilege of working with a fantastic team on the multi-layered task of restructuring, repositioning and rebranding the organization, supported by successive boards of directors.”

O’Farrell is moving on to become CEO of OLHI – OmbudService for Life and Health Insurance.

“During his tenure, Glenn and his team transformed a public television station in Ontario into a formidable multimedia digital enterprise with pan-Canadian and international reach,” said Carole Beaulieu, chair of the of the TFO board.

“Glenn’s transformative leadership skills guided Groupe Média TFO to new technologies, new ways of doing things and new platforms to serve the mandate of this public media enterprise dedicated to support the Franco-Ontarian education system. Under his leadership, Groupe Média TFO launched a new content platform (IDÉLLO), produced hundreds of hours of co-productions and created marquis events which positioned Groupe MédiaTFO as a digital leader in Canada and elsewhere,” she added.

A decision on a replacement or an interim president has not yet been taken.
