October 19 deadline approaching for OAB Community Service Awards


TORONTO – The Ontario Association of Broadcasters’ annual Community Service Awards entry deadline is Friday, October 19th. To enter your station’s best public service campaign simply go to the OAB website and follow the prompts to the Awards page where you can upload your full entry including your audio and/or video.

The Community Service Awards program acknowledges the generosity of broadcasters, but also recognizes the creativity in developing a successful public service campaign.

Entries are open to all member stations and must be received by Friday, October 19, 2012.  Campaigns must have run between September 1, 2011 to August 31, 2012. Winning stations will be contacted the week of October 22 and winning names will be released November 6. Awards will be presented during the OAB Gala Awards Dinner along with the OAB Hall of Fame and the Ontario Broadcast Order of Achievement.  

The Annual Gala Award Dinner will be held on Tuesday, November 6th, 2012, immediately following the OAB fall conference. It will be held at the Westin Bristol Place Hotel, 950 Dixon Road in Toronto beginning with a reception at 5:30 p.m.
