NEWMARKET, ON – Unity Telecom founder and president Dave Sherry died suddenly on June 26. He was 55.
A lifelong entrepreneur, Sherry (pictured) founded Unity in 2004 and grew the company to be a North American leader in telecommunications. Prior to that, he was president of Accord Communications, which later became Cygnal Technologies. Sherry was known throughout the industry for being as passionate about his friends, family and community as he was about business.

"Dave always thought of the company as his extended family – choosing employees with care, encouraging independence, initiative and growth among all employees”, said his wife Erin Sherry. “He was a true leader and an inspiring mentor who was always very proud of our team's work to make Unity a success.”
Erin will assume the role of Unity’s CEO effective immediately, after overseeing the company’s finances and administration since its inception, most recently as VP of Finance. She will be joined by VP of Sales Randy Bergeron who will take on the role of president.
"A trusted partner and friend, Randy worked alongside Dave for three decades and has been with Unity since the company was founded”, Sherry added. “He has been integral to Unity's tremendous growth, including the deployment of business communications solutions for more than 3,000 customer locations in the last eight years."
Sherry is survived by his wife Erin and their two children.
