OBITUARY: Former Global Maritimes anchor, station manager Allan Rowe

DARTMOUTH – Broadcaster-turned-politician Allan Rowe died Monday at the age of 59. The elected representative for Dartmouth South, Rowe was admitted to hospital last month after reportedly suffering a ruptured aneurysm.Born in Hamilton, ON, Rowe attended McMaster University before moving to Newfoundland to attend Memorial University. He worked as a roughneck on the drilling rig Ocean Ranger before becoming a reporter on Q-Radio in St. John's. He later went to work for CTV Atlantic before moving to Global Television in Halifax, first as a reporter, then evening news anchor and finally as station manager before retiring from journalism in 2012."We...
