OAB Awards nominations open until Sept. 19


MARKHAM, Ont. — The Ontario Association of Broadcasters (OAB) is now accepting nominations for the OAB Awards to be presented at its Connection 2022 conference awards luncheon in October.

Open and free to all OAB member stations, OAB Awards nominations can be submitted in four categories.

The Best In Class Sales Award recognizes “an individual sales person who shows their ability to recognize and speak to the needs, wants and wishes of a new client with a successful radio campaign,” reads an OAB email announcement.

The Creative Award “will be presented to the writer/producer who creates the best 30 (second) or 60 (second) radio ad that inspires action, evokes emotion and produces results for the client.”

The Community Service Campaign Award “is presented to the station for outstanding contribution to worthwhile organizations in its community.”

The Promotion Award will be presented to “the station that best promotes itself! Promotions will be judged on originality, station benefit, goals achieved and impact in the community.”

Entries must have run on an Ontario-based member station during the 2021-2022 broadcast calendar.
