TORONTO — The Ontario Association of Broadcasters (OAB) announced more details about who is scheduled to speak at its annual Connection conference, to be held November 7 at the Marriott Toronto Airport Hotel.
This year’s OAB Sales Session will be facilitated again by John Perras, who will open the session by discussing two keys to increasing radio sales right away: how to improve prospecting and in less time; and what to include in a presentation for increased results.
Pat Bryson (pictured) has been voted one of Radio Ink’s 2018 Most Influential People in Radio and she will deliver the feature sales training with the Client Needs Analysis. Bryson will dive deep into how to ask the right questions that will make money. Bryson will guide attendees through this process and then open the floor to everyone in the room for Q&A.
Following Bryson, the ever-popular Advertising Panel will feature Laurence Yap from the Pfaff Group, Sonia Draper from Sleep Country, and Teresa Coulter from OMD.
Laurence Yap heads up advertising at the Pfaff Group, one of Canada’s best-run auto groups. Given the fact that automotive has always been a pillar of radio’s success stories, Yap will discuss what the landscape looks like from his end, what’s in store for the automotive industry in 2020, and how radio can be ready and perhaps do a better job in this partnership.
Prior to joining Sleep Country, Sonia Draper was at Home Depot buying radio and promotions. Today, she runs marketing for Sleep Country, a national retailer who built its brand using radio as its launchpad. Draper will address the future of retail and how radio partnerships can do a better job for Canadian advertisers.
Teresa Coulter is making a return visit to the OAB Connection conference. Her agency, OMD, is one of Canada’s largest and by far the biggest user and supporter of radio. Coulter has seen everything from great presentations to not such great presentations. She will discuss how radio can do a better job for her clients and why radio is still relevant as the industry heads into 2020.
Registration is open now for tickets to the OAB Sales Session, which has limited seating. The Sales Session runs from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 7, followed immediately by the Awards Luncheon. Entry is included with Sales Session registration.
The OAB’s 10th annual Connection conference will feature other engaging speakers and a special Production Super Session this year.
