Novus names Marett as new co-president and CFO

VANCOUVER – Novus Entertainment today announced Chris Marett will become the company’s new co-president and chief financial officer in March as Doug Holman will be retiring then from that role after 20 years with the company. Holman will act as a special advisor, subsequent to his retirement, to ensure a smooth transition for his successor, says the company’s press release.

Marett is currently CEO of CityWest in Prince Rupert and he had been CFO prior to that. He recently announced he was leaving the company.

“We would like to thank Doug for his contribution to the expansion and strategic transformation of Novus for over two decades” said Terry Hui, chair of Novus, in the press release. “With his financial and operational acumen and understanding of the industry, Mr. Holman has helped to propel Novus to its strategic position as one of the most innovative telecommunications service providers in Canada.”

“We are confident that Mr. Marett will continue Novus’ track record as a key contender in the telecommunications industry in Metro Vancouver. His keen interest in technology and focus on customers is perfectly aligned with Novus’ commitment to providing the best Internet, Television and Telephone service.”

Donna Robertson will continue in her role as co-president and chief legal officer. “I would like to thank Doug for his years of team work with me as co-president. I look forward to continuing that team work with Chris Marett for the continued success of Novus,” said Robertson.

“I’m very excited to be coming to Novus, said Marett in the release. “I was a Novus customer when I lived in Vancouver in 2000 and loved its attention to customer service and technology. I’m looking forward to continuing Novus’ growth by offering our services to more residences and businesses.”

Novus was established in 1996 and was granted one of the first competitive cable television licenses by the CRTC. It continues to build an all fibre optic network throughout Metro Vancouver for servicing multi-unit building developments with broadband, video and voice.
