MONTREAL – Bell Media’s Noovo announced today Les Imposteurs (The Imposters), a unique new talk show hosted by comedian Rachid Badouri (above) will air Jan. 10 at 8 p.m. on Noovo and Noovo.ca.
The show, an original Quebec concept of Just for Laughs, “is a new kind of talk show that is halfway between an interview show, a game show and an improvisation game,” an English translation of a French press release explains.
“Badouri receives personalities and relies on interview plans full of falsehoods… and totally ignores what information is true. The stars improvise for a lifetime while trying to remain credible. The result: hilarious performances where everyone has fun distinguishing what is true? What is an imposture? At the end of the episode, the public must vote for its favorite impostor of the evening.”
The prize is a donation for the winner’s favourite foundation.
“Les imposteurs is definitely the show that will make us laugh and make us pick up this winter. A local concept, with a darling animator, idol of all generations… What better way to ask for to start a new year?” says Mélanie Bhérer, general manager, variety, lfestyle, documentary at Bell Media.
“Rachid is such a versatile and fast comedian, it was a real blessing to have him on board for the launch of a brand new show concept. It allowed us to focus on only one thing during our shootings: have fun!” added Patrick Rozon, vice-president of Francophone content of the Just for Laughs Group.
Guests for the season include Jean-Michel Anctil, Rita Baga, Marc Hervieux, Jean-Thomas Jobin, Laurent Paquin and Rémi-Pierre Paquin.
Les Imposteurs is an original Quebec concept by Emilie Corriveau, Benoit Cyr and Jonathan Racine. It is produced by Juste Pour Rire TV in collaboration with Bell Media.
