MONTREAL — Bell Media’s Noovo announced today it will debut a new debate program, Les Débatteurs de Noovo, hosted by anchor Michel Bherer (above), this September.
The show will air Monday to Thursday at 10:30 p.m. ET, following the nightly news program Le fil 22 (The Wire 22).
“Les Débatteurs de Noovo is the topic of the day, seasoned debaters and 30 minutes of heated exchanges,” reads an English translation of Bell Media’s French press release.
“We are very pleased to announce the arrival in September of a program where we can discuss hot current topics and thus continue the progress and development of Noovo Info,” said Jean-Philippe Pineault, general manager, information, Noovo, in the English translation.
“Michel Bherer will be surrounded by a team of diverse, experienced debaters representative of Quebec society who will be able to take a frank look at the news. The format of the program Les Débatteurs de Noovo will allow the clash of ideas and opinions. It is the perfect editorial complement to Noovo Le fil news broadcasts.”
More details about the program will be announced in the coming weeks, says the release.
