Nominations sought for Women in Technology Award

EXTON, PA – Nominations are now being accepted for the 2011 Women in Technology Award.

The award is designed to shine a spotlight on the achievements of women inside this traditionally male-dominated industry sector. Sponsored by Bright House Networks, the award was created in 1995 to acknowledge the achievements of an outstanding woman in technology who has demonstrated significant personal and professional growth and has contributed to the advancement of the cable telecommunications industry.

To be eligible, a woman must be in a technical position in the cable or telecommunications industry and be a current member of Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) and the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE), among other criteria detailed in the nomination application.

The nominations deadline is July 29, and the award will be presented during SCTE’s annual awards luncheon on November 15 at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2011 in Atlanta. The recipient also will be featured in the November issue of Communications Technology magazine.
