Nominations open for OAB’s Broadcast Order of Achievement award

MARKHAM, ON – Are you, or do you know someone in the broadcast industry who deserves to be recognized for their years of service? The Ontario Association of Broadcasters is now accepting applications for its Broadcast Order of Achievement awards.

Formally known as CAB’s Quarter/Half Century Club, the Broadcast Order of Achievement recognizes tenure in broadcasting, with a bronze award for 10-14 years of service, silver for 15-24 years of service and gold for 25 or more years of service.

This is the first year the OAB will be presenting the Ontario Broadcast Order of Achievement award. Other regional associations across the country have agreed to continue similar programs recognizing individuals’ achievements in broadcasting.

Applicants will be presented with their certificates at the OAB Gala Awards Dinner, which takes place November 7 immediately following the Connection 2013 conference, at the Toronto Airport Marriott Hotel.

The Ontario Hall of Fame and the Community Service Awards will also be presented at the OAB Gala Awards Dinner.

The Ontario Hall of Fame is a board-nominated honour presented to individuals who spent most of their careers working for private broadcasters and have demonstrated a commitment to the highest standards of broadcast excellence. The Community Service Awards recognize stations’ commitment and contribution to their communities. Entry forms for this award will be sent out shortly.

Gala Awards Dinner tickets are included with Connection 2013 conference registration, $199 for members, $249 for non-members; or can be purchased separately, $99 for members and $129 for non-members. Tickets are available at www.oab.ca.
