Nominations open for CommTech East Awards Gala

TORONTO – Nominations are now being accepted for the CommTech awards gala that will take place on the eve of April's CommTech East Show and Seminars.

The second annual awards will identify an outstanding business/organization, individual, and volunteer in the Canadian ICT Industry and honour them publicly for their excellence in communications contributions.

Scheduled for April 15 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the Mississauga Convention Centre, the award categories include:

– the Canadian Business Excellence and Innovation in Information Communications Technology Award, recognizing the supplier, distributor, manufacturer, developer or similar, who has excelled in delivering ‘big picture’ ideas products and vision in the Canadian ICT industry, thereby responding to change and discovering unique and challenging opportunities.

– the Canadian Individual Excellence and Innovation in Information Communications Technology Award, which recognizes an individual who contributed to their company’s growth through excellence in innovation.  He/she must have demonstrated outstanding technical abilities in the last 12 months (product/solution design, knowledge, communication and training commitment) and demonstrate responsiveness and a can-do attitude. The candidate contributes time and effort with volunteer activities within the communications industry.

– the Canadian Volunteer of the Year in Information Communications Technology Award, which will honour the individual or group who contributed to the ICT industry’s growth through volunteer activities. The individual or group must also demonstrate responsiveness and provide learning opportunities.

Nominations are free and are due by March 21, 2019.  Nominees must be a Canadian citizen, resident or business/organization.  A maximum of 10 nominations per category will be reviewed by CommTech management – click here for more details.

Gala tickets must be ordered in advance.  The evening will also include fun, food, networking, and entertainment by comedian “That Canadian Guy” Glen Foster.
