Nimiq 6 lifts Telesat’s Q3 revenues by 10% to $220 million

OTTAWA - The launch of Telesat’s Nimiq 6 satellite and a stronger Canadian dollar helped propel its revenues up by about 10% in the third quarter to $220 million, compared to the same period in 2011 for the three month period ended September 30, 2012. For the nine month period ended September 30, 2012, consolidated revenues were $618 million, an increase of approximately 2% ($14 million) compared to the same period in 2011.
