MONTREAL — The National Film Board of Canada announced today it has approved 16 new productions and co-productions, with new documentary, animation and interactive works from across Canada getting underway.
In addition, the NFB says a new initiative to be launched in the coming weeks will see all 11 NFB studios working with more than 40 creators across the country to document the current Covid-19 situation and its impacts.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, the NFB is taking steps to ensure filmmakers and crews can work remotely and practise physical distancing, with NFB studios across Canada maintaining one-to-one contact with directors and co-producers, says the news release.
Of the 16 newly approved productions, five are documentaries, nine are animations and two are interactive/immersive projects.
