NFB calls for documentary funding proposals

MONTREAL and TORONTO – The National Film Board of Canada has issued a call for proposals from independent filmmakers to make documentaries from a new fund. The NFB’s $800,000 documentary fund was announced at the Banff Television Festival in June. It provides funding for theatrical feature documentary co-productions with the Documentary Channel, which will air the films after their theatrical release.
