
MONTREAL – The National Film Board of Canada (NFB) has named Jérôme Dufour to the new position of director general of marketing and communications, effective March 10.
Dufour was most recently VP of marketing at the Old Port of Montréal Corporation where for five years he managed marketing and communications activities and product and services operations, as well as sales and customer service for all commercial activities of the Old Port, Montréal Science Centre and IMAX Theatre. He has also held management and directorship positions in marketing and communications at companies including Air France, Microcell Telecommunications, Loyalty Management Group, and Cossette.
“His varied experience and creative approach will benefit the NFB”, said acting government film commissioner and chairperson Claude Joli-Coeur, in the announcement. “Jérôme’s primary mandate will be to develop and propose an innovative, strategic marketing plan that will ensure that the full potential of the NFB’s productions, brand, intellectual property and expertise is utilized. He will also develop audience and community engagement and strategic partnerships with other key stakeholders in Canada and abroad.”
