TORONTO — iHeartRadio Canada’s Newstalk 1010 announced today a new afternoon drive program — The Rush with Reshmi Nair and Scott MacArthur — which will air weekdays from 2–6 p.m. ET, beginning April 11.
The show will feature “smart, curious conversation about topics that matter to Toronto, including breaking news and in-depth analysis of current events,” reads a Bell Media press release.
Already familiar to Torontonians, Nair (above, left) was most recently anchor of CP24 Tonight, and MacArthur (right) is returning to iHeartRadio Canada, having previously worked for TSN Radio 1050 in Toronto, where he hosted the weekday program The Scott MacArthur Show.
“With two familiar, trusted hosts at the helm, our all-new afternoon drive show will be an entertaining and compelling daily listen for those seeking to know more about what’s happening in Toronto,” said Jeff MacDonald, program director of Newstalk 1010, in the release.
“The Rush with Reshmi Nair and Scott MacArthur breaks down the biggest issues affecting the city today, and discusses where we’re headed tomorrow,” MacDonald said.
“More than ever, we need to talk things out, and I’m looking forward to connecting with listeners to discuss how issues in our GTA neighbourhoods and around the world will impact our daily lives,” Nair said. “All lines of communication will be open on The Rush. So join the conversation! Scott and I are ready to listen.”
“We live in interesting and challenging times, and this presents us the opportunity to discuss, debate, engage, and listen,” MacArthur said. “Toronto is a wonderfully diverse city affected by local, regional, national, and international issues. Reshmi and I will discuss them all, and we’ll have plenty of laughs too! I’m excited to be back with Bell Media and to return to my roots in news-talk radio.”
In addition to airing on Newstalk 1010 in Toronto, The Rush with Reshmi Nair and Scott MacArthur will be available to live stream on iHeartRadio.ca and the iHeartRadio Canada app.
