Newman joins CTV, Bell Media

TORONTO – Kevin Newman is joining CTV News as the co-host of Question Period and digital news evangelist for Bell Media beginning August 22.

With more than 30 years of experience, Newman (pictured) is known as one of Canada’s top national news experts.  He was most recently the national news anchor at Global Television for 10 years before stepping down last August.

In his new dual role, Newman joins long-time Question Period co-host Craig Oliver, chief political correspondent for CTV News, at the helm of the 40 year-old national political program.  He will also work with the Bell Media team to build the digital brand for CTV News as well as offer insight into the digital media strategy for other company properties.

“Kevin is a social media enthusiast, his combined knowledge of both the news world and the digital world make him a perfect candidate for this new role,” said Gary Anderson, head of Bell Media Digital, in Thursday’s announcement. “I’m looking forward to Kevin’s input as we continue to do even more to reach audiences across all platforms for both CTV News and other Bell Media properties.”
