Newfoundland’s Springdale area next to benefit from high-speed Internet

OTTAWA – Five communities in in central Newfoundland are the latest to benefit from high-speed Internet as part of the federal government’s Connecting Canadians program.Innovation, Science and Economic Development minister Navdeep Bains said Tuesday that Bell Aliant will receive up to $755,370 from the governments of Canada and Newfoundland and Labrador to increase broadband Internet access in five rural communities in the Springdale area.The communities include households in the vicinity of Beachside, St. Patricks, Little Bay, Harry's Harbour and Silverdale.  The broadband infrastructure projects will deliver access to broadband at speeds of 5 Mbps.“Access to faster, more reliable broadband Internet brings enormous...
