Newcap pares payroll

DARTMOUTH, N.S. – Radio broadcaster Newcap has cut staff a bit this month as approximately 15 people have been let go at various stations around the country as the company goes through its annual fall budgeting exercise.“This is something we do every year… it’s just rationalizing our operations… we don’t think it’s out of the ordinary,” Newcap vice-president administration Phil Reid told Cartt.ca“We’ve had some retirements over the past two-to-three weeks, we’ve had some people leave on their own and we had some others we had to let go for various reasons,” he added.The corporation’s and the stations’ leadership go...
