New Telesat bird launches, locks in EchoStar
OTTAWA – Telesat has completed agreements for new satellite capacity with DTH providers Bell TV and EchoStar.Bell TV will use a new Canadian broadcast satellite which is scheduled to begin construction early in 2010, while EchoStar has committed to using the entire available payload of Telesat's new Nimiq 5 satellite.Nimiq 5 completed a successful launch from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan last Friday as scheduled.
