
TORONTO – SiriusXM Canada is rolling out a new streaming subscription package aimed at those who don't have a car, or don't use one very much.
The new "Essential" streaming-only package stocks over 300 music, sports talk, comedy and entertainment channels for $1 for the first three months, then $8 per month thereafter. Subscribers will be able to listen on their smartphones and tablets via the SiriusXM app, via the SiriusXM.ca web player, and on connected devices in the home including devices with Amazon Alexa, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast, Roku, Apple TV, smart TVs, Sonos speakers, and Sony PlayStation.
"We know that our new Essential subscription will be attractive to many consumers, especially younger consumers, who don't own a car or don't spend a lot of time in their car, and who want access to our unrivaled lineup of commercial-free music, news, entertainment, comedy and sports talk in a user-friendly, 'lean back' way that allows them to discover and enjoy,” said sales & marketing SVP Paul Cunningham, in the news release.
SiriusXM is also introduce new $13 per month pricing for its Premier Streaming package, which offers 300+ channels of audio entertainment, Howard Stern's two full-time audio channels and Howard Video, on demand content, as well as NBA, NHL, and NCAA channels.
