TORONTO — Global TV today took the wraps off its winter season lineup of new series and season premieres, which includes the highly anticipated debuts of new dramas Clarice (pictured) and The Equalizer, as well as new comedy Call Your Mother.
The Equalizer is a reimagining of the classic TV series, starring Queen Latifah (Chicago) as Robyn McCall, a woman with a mysterious background who uses her extensive skills as a former CIA operative to help those with nowhere else to turn. The series debuts on Global on February 7 at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT, following CBS’s airing of the Super Bowl.
The second new drama premiering on Global this winter is suspense thriller Clarice (pictured), which takes a deep dive into the untold personal story of FBI Agent Clarice Starling (Rebecca Breeds, The Originals) as she returns to the field in 1993, one year after the events of The Silence of the Lambs. Clarice premieres on Global on February 11 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
Kyra Sedgwick (The Closer) stars in the new comedy Call Your Mother, a multicamera sitcom from creator and executive producer Kari Lizer (The New Adventures of Old Christine). Sedgwick plays an empty-nester mom who decides to reinsert herself into her children’s lives. The half-hour comedy debuts on Global on January 14 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
Global’s winter lineup also includes new seasons of Prodigal Son (premiering January 12 at 9 p.m. ET/PT), 9-1-1 (January 18 at 8 p.m. ET/PT) and Tough As Nails (February 10 at 8 p.m. ET/PT).
In addition, Global will air new episodes of fall favourites including Private Eyes (moving to Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT starting January 7), the NCIS franchise, FBI, FBI: Most Wanted, S.W.A.T., and The Neighborhood.
Meanwhile in late-night, Canadian Lilly Singh debuts a new late-night format for season two of A Little Late with Lilly Singh, premiering on Global on Monday, January 11 at 12:37 a.m. ET/PT.
