TORONTO — New Canadian Media (NCM), a non-profit news portal that showcases journalism from an immigrant perspective, today announced it has partnered with the Canadian Association of Journalists (CAJ) to offer a joint membership program to help amplify multicultural voices in Canadian media.
NCM is inviting journalists currently working with multicultural media outlets to join the new NCM-CAJ Collective. The joint membership program provides members with exclusive perks and privileges, including professional development, mentorship and other supports to help journalists reach their full potential, says NCM’s press release.
Currently, the NCM Collective is comprised of more than 200 journalists, while the CAJ organization has more than 700 members across Canada.
“NCM’s inclusive journalism provides fresh insights and original, ethically-sourced news to enhance understanding of Canada’s rich cultural mosaic,” reads the press release. “This joint membership drive ensures that journalists from multicultural backgrounds are recognized for their contributions to the Canadian journalism ecosystem.”
