New magical series comes to Family, which launches ad-free weekday mornings

TORONTO — WildBrain Television’s Family Channel is premiering two magical new series in May, along with brand-new episodes of popular shows and fun-filled movie nights for the whole family to watch.

In addition, throughout May, Family Channel is programming two hours of ad-free specials, movies and series favourites every weekday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in its new “Two Hours Together” initiative that offers families a chance to spend some enjoyable time together each day. Some of the shows to be featured during the commercial-free two hours include Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, Spy Kids, Kung Fu Panda and Trolls: The Beat Goes On.

“Just as Canadian families may be in need of fresh screen entertainment, Family Channel’s May lineup is brimming with fantastic new series as well as favourite films to turn screen time into valuable family time and bring audiences a little magic directly into their homes,” said Katie Wilson, vice-president of content and curation at WildBrain Television, in the news release. “Canadian families can depend on Family Channel to provide much-needed joy, escape and positivity during these difficult times.”

On Monday, May 4 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, new vampire series Heirs of the Night (pictured) will make its North American debut on Family Channel with a two-part premiere event. Another new series, The Bureau of Magical Things, will premiere on Family Channel on Monday, May 4 with a new episode every weekday at 6:30 p.m. The Bureau of Magical Things follows teenage girl Kyra who accidentally discovers a mystical world that gives her magical powers.
