New IDC president appointed to board of directors


OTTAWA – International Datacasting Corporation announced today it has appointed new president and CEO Doug Lowther to the corporation’s board of directors. Lowther became president and CEO of IDC on May 13 and was appointed to the board on May 17.

He was was most recently executive vice-president at Irdeto, and has extensive experience developing and executing successful business growth strategies in the fields of digital television, wireless networking, IP-based services and software security.

Lowther’s previous positions include several executive roles with Nortel Networks, where he was vice-president and general manager of wireless applications and the vice president of strategic marketing. He began his career building network planning and operations systems for telecom operators.

IDC is a digital content distributor for broadcasters in radio, television, data and digital cinema.
