MONTREAL – Bell Media announced yesterday a new Crave original documentary, Allô, Voici Mon Pénis (Hello, Here is my Penis), will be available to stream on Crave in French with English subtitles as of Dec. 22.
The documentary, which explores the daring photos men share of themselves from the point of view of men, women and society more generally, is led by Kim Lévesque Lizotte (above).
“At first glance, the subject of the documentary may seem banal and simply make you smile, but it demonstrates once again the importance of sex education,” Lévesque Lizotte said in an English translation of the French press release announcing the documentary. “So I hope that by watching it, the public will learn a little more about the phenomenon of dick pic.”
To find out what is behind these photos, if it is desire, seduction, power, exhibitionism, narcissism, sexism, aggression or fear of rejection, Kim goes to “those who receive them and those who send them. At the same time, she meets with experts who help her demystify this phenomenon,” the press release says.
“The questions raised in the documentary are particularly topical, always fair and relevant. Allô, Voici Mon Pénis is a non-judgmental production that makes us think and amuses us at the same time,” said Mélanie Bhérer, general manager, variety, lifestyle and documentary at Bell Media.
The 60-minute documentary is directed by Jean-Philippe Pariseau. It is produced by Urbania in collaboration with Bell Media.
