New Canadian smart phone app monitors personal safety

OTTAWA – A new smart phone application from Waterloo-based Mindr Mobile has received the backing of the National Council of Women of Canada (NCWC). Designed to improve personal safety for its users, Mindr's Personal Monitor can send an urgent request for assistance to a personal contact in case of an emergency, as well as proactively check on users to ensure safety and responsiveness.  Available for Android devices, the app costs $3.49 per month or $35.88 for a yearly subscription.
